Phang Nga was formerly inhabited by small communities. During the reign of King Rama II, many people fled to this land. In 1824, the invaders were expelled, and then it gradually was expanded to be a province. It can be said that Phang Nga is a melting pot of Buddhists, Thai-Chinese, Muslims and others.
