The first stop on your street food walking tour in Bangkok will be at Bangkok City Hall, which is a short car ride from your accommodation. This itinerary is sure to wow, starting with Bangkok’s oldest and biggest Buddhist temple, Wat Suthat, and ending with a brief picture op at the Giang Swing in front of the temple.

Your tour begins here, and as you follow your guide through the maze of streets, you’ll get to see all sorts of interesting things and sample delicious treats along the way. The traditional Thai dessert, Khanom Thua Paep (mung bean rice crepe), is best enjoyed with a cup of ‘kafae boran’ (Thai coffee) at a local cafe. Another local stand in the same neighborhood sells “Gui Chai,” a dumpling filled with various veggies such as bean sprouts and spinach. Walk on to the Chinese temple of Chao Pho Suea and then through the winding lanes of Phraeng Phuthon, one of Bangkok’s most historically significant neighborhoods. Try some of the best coconut ice cream around, created in this shop using a recipe that has been in the family for generations.

As you return to the Giant Swing, the tour’s starting point, your guide will lead you through a local market selling various things, from fresh seafood and fruit to clothing and a giant Buddha factory on Nava Alley. You may visit the local workshops where these Buddha statues and pictures are made to see them being made. You’ll return to your accommodation when the walking tour ends.
