Guests are picked up from their hotels at about 4 a.m. and driven in a private 4x4 to the peak of Mount Penanjakan for a breathtaking sunrise. There will be entrepreneurial locals selling hot beverages and puffer jackets for 'rental' at the base of the stairway leading to the observation platform, so make sure to stop for a break and warm up before making the ascent.

You can have one of the most breathtaking and unforgettable sights in the world by just standing at a vantage point and watching the dawn over the mountains. From here, you may continue up to Mount Bromo's crater via the ancient caldera. Your guide may assist you in setting up a ride on a local horse, but you can also choose to stroll. About 2 kilometers separate the two points.
