Sinharaja Biosphere Reserve

A national park since 1978 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989, Sinharaja has a long and illustrious past. Depending on the local traffic conditions, it could take up to 45 minutes to go from your lodging to the park gate. Before entering the park, you'll meet your local guide.

At the second gate, you may disembark from your jeep and stroll along the many paths that wind across the region. Others have smooth pavement and steep inclines, while others need you to crawl over fallen trees. We recommend using the included leech socks since these pests thrive in moist environments.

Orioles, babblers, orange minivets, and the uncommon Sri Lankan blue magpie are just a few birds that call this park home. Other possible sights include bearded monkeys, mongooses, barking deer, and sambar.
