Day 1

Start your day with an early breakfast in the restaurant area. Your guides will introduce themselves and provide essential information regarding safety, cultural etiquette, the tour itinerary, and what to bring. Waiver forms will be distributed to all guests for signing before departure. Once everyone is packed and ready, those riding bikes will be acquainted with their motorcycles and given instructions on their safe operation. Competency tests will be conducted to ensure your capability for the trip's duration. Our first destination is the charming spring-fed village of Du Gia. We'll take the newly opened road, constructed to serve the hydro dams along the Lo River. The scenery will continually leave you in awe. Traveling on roads with minimal tourist traffic, we'll make frequent stops for local interactions, photo opportunities, and visits to local markets (subject to the day's schedule). Lunch will be served at a small family-run restaurant in Du Gia village. At the end of the day, we'll reach the quiet and picturesque Ban An village, home to the Tay ethnic tribe. Upon arrival, you can unpack, relax with a cold beer, and explore the village or take a refreshing dip in the natural spring located nearby. Accommodation and amenities in Ban An are very basic, providing you with a genuine insight into the daily life of these hill tribes. Dinner will be prepared over an open fire and shared with the local family at the homestay.

Onward to Vietnam's northernmost frontier and the border region with China, you'll pass through areas with rocky outcrops that scientists have identified as evidence of tectonic plate shifts.
